I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete
Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin
KEANE // SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW

SUMMARY
After twenty years of being friends with Taylor Hanson, Chase Rosatto thought they had experienced everything there was to experience together. But when model Callie Grayson comes into the picture, the friendship she's known and cherished for so long is thrown into a tailspin with Taylor caught in the middle. Despite his best efforts, he finds it impossible to keep his girlfriend and his best friend from despising one another. And when it comes time for him to make a choice once and for all, the only thing that's certain is that no matter which path he chooses, someone's heart will be broken.

EXCERPT
I really did try to like Callie. But there was hate in her eyes from the moment Taylor introduced us. I got it, at first. Most people aren’t crazy about their boyfriend hanging out and talking on the phone with his ex-girlfriend all the time. It’s just that in the past, the girlfriends have quickly realized that there’s absolutely nothing romantic left between Taylor and myself. Trust me, after you’ve been around the boy’s flatulence for so many years, among the many other disgusting things I’ve seen him do, he loses his appeal for romance. Sure, she pretends to be nice to my face when Taylor’s around. But I’ve seen the vicious looks she throws at me when Taylor turns his back. Still, I smile and act friendly no matter how much I want to smack her across the face most of the time because Taylor loves her and she makes him happy. How, I’m really not sure, but she does. And who am I to interfere with that?
